Ella Dining Room and Bar Sous Chef, Manny Cruz, has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and joined the Ella team in June 2021. Cruz previously worked at Bistro 33, starting as a dishwasher and then worked his way to Sous Chef. He learned early in his career he loves working in the kitchen and being a part of the fast pace and high energy of the restaurant and hospitality industry. For Cruz, food and cooking is not only a personal career choice, but a family affair, as his wife is also a cook in the industry. Cruz was born in Hidalgo, Mexico. On his days off, you’ll find him and his wife at home relaxing and enjoying cooking together.
Ella Dining Room and Bar Sous Chef, Miguel Rivera, has been in the hospitality industry for 15 years and joined the Ella team in June 2021. Rivera originally joined the Ella team as Chef de Partie and quickly ascended to the position of Sous Chef. His previous positions held included Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at Michael David Winery, and before that as Sous Chef at Townhouse at Wine and Roses, both in Lodi CA. Rivera was born in Jalisco, Mexico and at an early age was inspired to become a chef, as both his parents were chefs, as well as having a great fondness for his mother’s amazing cooking. On his days off, you’ll find him relaxing and enjoying cooking at home for his family.share
