In 1990, the founders of Wilderotter were lucky to find and procure 40 luscious acres of land in the Shenandoah Valley, and were able to begin the dream of becoming a premier wine grape grower. With the 2002 harvest, 750 cases of Estate Zinfandel, Estate Syrah, Estate Viognier, and Roussanne were produced.

The business expanded to become Wilderotter Vineyard and Winery, with 80 acres in Plymouth, CA, producing 21 varietals, which now include Zinfandel, Syrah, Tempranillo, Barbera, Viognier, Petite Sirah, Mourvèdre, Grenache, their signature Sauvignon Blanc, and three types of olive trees. They currently produce 5,000 cases annually, plus approximately 30 gallons of high-grade finishing olive oil from Manzanilla, Leccino, and Frantoio fruit.

With the opening of their beautifully-constructed, Tuscan-style tasting room in 2004, as well as limited distribution to high-end retail and restaurants, and an ever-increasing Wine Club, Wilderotter’s decision to continue to make a world-class product has been reinforced.

As part of their continuous quest to develop greater recognition for the Shenandoah Valley wine region, they have constructed a luxury all-suite lodging and event property appropriately named the “Grand Reserve Inn”. Please enjoy the fruits of their labor.
