YOLO FARM TO EVERY FORK LEADS FARM TOUR OF CAPAY VALLEY
Stops include Fiddlers Green, Yocha Dehe Olive Mill and Capay Organic
Including Harvest Samples and a Sunset Dinner

Davis, Calif., Sept. 4, 2013 ─  Yolo County Supervisor Don Saylor (district 2, Davis) announced today a Capay Valley farm tour as part of the “Yolo Farm to Every Fork” event series, highlighting county farm contributions and food security issues.

Yolo Farm to Every Fork emerged from a partnership of Yolo Food Connect and Yolo Ag & Food Alliance. These events dovetail with the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau’s “America’s Farm to Fork Capital” initiative.

“This tour of the Capay Valley will be an intimate look at working farms that contribute great products to our local economy,” said Saylor. “This is a Yolo Farm to Every Fork event that will showcase the beauty and the bounty of our region.”

Guests will meet at the Yolo County Fairgrounds at 1250 Gum Avenue, Woodland, at 1 p.m. Stops include: Fiddlers Green (farm tour), Yocha Dehe Olive Mill (with olive oil tasting) and Capay Organic (farm tour, harvest activity). Ticket includes bus “road food” from Monticello Seasonal Cuisine and a dinner of artisanal pizzas with farm fresh produce from Caffe Italia’s wood-fired, pizza oven and more at Capay Organic after the farm tour.

The tour bus is scheduled to return to the fairgrounds at 8:00 p.m.
