Lights, Camera, Bon Appetit! Sacramento Food Film Festival Kicks off March 20

Culinary connoisseurs and movie buffs alike can get their fill starting this week, as Sacramento food blogger Catherine Enfield kicks off the third-annual Sacramento Food Film Festival. Running from March 20 – March 30, proceeds from the event will benefit the California Food Literacy Center, a local organization dedicated to community food education.

The expanded, ten-day event offers something for every palette and film fan. Attendees can sample fare from local restaurants and chefs, while enjoying documentaries, family films and other culinary-related movies. The festival schedule includes:

Thurs., March 20, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. – Enjoy appetizers from Ten22 while watching the award winning Spinning Plates

Sat., March 22, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. – Take in the documentary Beer Wars while sipping Ruhstaller’s new Nugget beer and nibbling bites from Chef Adam Pechal. Hosted at the Sterling Hotel

Tues., March 25, 7:00 p.m. – Savor a four-course meal at Lucca, along with a wine pairing based upon the film Bottle Shock

Wed., March 26, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. – Settle in for a free screening of Cafeteria Man at the Guild Theater, featuring special guest, the Cafeteria Man himself, Tony Geraci

Fri, March 28, 6:00 p.m. – Twirl some spaghetti from Selland’s with a side of the cartoon favorite, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Hosted at the Clunie Center at McKinley Park

Sat., March 29, 5:00 p.m. – Relax at the Guild Theater for a free showing of The Slow Food Story, along with a short film locally-produced in Oak Park

Sun., March 30, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. – Bid a delicious farewell to the week at Sunh Fish (19th & V Streets) with sushi and uni creations from Kru, perfectly paired with the film Sweet, Sexy Ocean
