California Restaurant Association Sacramento chapter to partner with Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau to present Farm-to-Fork Restaurant Week

(SACRAMENTO, July 25, 2013) – The California Restaurant Association (CRA) Sacramento chapter will present Sacramento Farm-to-Fork Restaurant Week Sept. 20-29 at dozens of restaurants across the Sacramento Valley. The event is presented in partnership with the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB), which will host a slew of events during Farm-to-Fork Week to celebrate the region’s abundance of local farmland, vibrant culinary scene, food production, export practices and high-quality chefs and restaurants.

“This is a fantastic way for restaurants across the region to highlight the local and seasonal items on their menus, or develop inventive events that showcase something new,” CRA Sacramento President Bobby Coyote, founder of Dos Coyotes.

The 10-day event will showcase the Sacramento region as the culinary powerhouse that it is, with dozens of area restaurants slated to produce special events, menus and opportunities to meet the farmers, winemakers and brewers who make Sacramento America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital. Nearly 30 restaurants have already signed on to participate, and are planning a variety of events, from prix fixe menus, to winemaker and brewer dinners to daily specials and more.

“We hope locals and visitors alike will find Farm-to-Fork week to be an excellent time to dine out with family and friends to truly discover the culinary innovations and strong agricultural partnerships happening in the region,” SCVB Senior Vice President Mike Testa said.

Both the chapter and SCVB have committed to collaborating with city leaders from communities beyond the downtown core, including Davis, West Sacramento, Roseville, Folsom and beyond to ensure they’re actively engaged in what has become a signature food movement for the region.
