Guest Post – Winters Chamber of Commerce Agri-tour at Kingfisher Farm
The Winters Chamber of Commerce will hold its third Agri-tour of the year on Wednesday, June 17, at Kingfisher Farm located along Putah Creek Road in rural Winters. Kingfisher farm is five-acre property owned and operated by Matt and Lauren Leachmaier. They practice wildlife friendly, certified organic methods to grow fruits and vegetables and beautiful Putah Creek runs along the property. Kingfisher Farm currently sells its produce to local restaurants such as Preserve and CSA boxes at Main Street Cellars.
The day will begin at Steady Eddy’s Coffee House at 9 a.m. Participants will enjoy a beverage and pastry of choice and the tour will leave for Kingfisher Farm at 9:30 a.m.
The tour will then return to Winters for lunch featuring Kingfisher farm produce at Preserve Public House , known for its farm-to-fork dinning style.
After lunch, participants will visit the Putah Creek Council, where Executive Director Carrie Shaw will brief attendees on the restoration project along Putah Creek. Kingfisher farm collaborates with Putah Creek Council for creek restoration.
