It was through the finding of an old Casio keyboard in a dusty attic that launched the idea for a retro-fitted, poppy, chillwave inspired project. Having started out as just a kid with an interest in making noises on the computer, local Sacramento artist Casey Groat now performs as ‘Inner Nature’, incorporating themes such as love and loss in his songs. Artists like Washed Out, Phoenix, and Neon Indian are a big influence on the sound. The live act is a three-piece featuring Casey, James Murphy (Ancient Astronaut, Saint Solitaire) and Austin Mooney.
