The Sysco Sacramento Sous Chef Challenge is meant to highlight up-and-coming talent in the restaurant industry in the region. Judges will be Rick Mahan (chef-owner of The Waterboy Restaurant), Spencer Richins (Sysco Sacramento), and Visit Sacramento’s own Sonya Bradley.
The challenge: Hands and Pans. Chefs will be provided with two burners and cutting boards, but no fancy equipment (no food processors). Whatever dish they come up with must include the provided Superior Farms lamb tenderloin. They must also incorporate one secret pocket item of their choosing.
