Solar Cooking Festival Returns to Sacramento
Solar Cookers International is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Sacramento Solar Cooking Festival, proving that roasting, baking, stewing, and grilling delicious foods with zero-emission, free solar energy is not a technology of the future: it’s a way to cook today.
The Sacramento Solar Cooking Festival will be held at the corner of Freeport and Sutterville in Willliam Land Park, from 9 am – 3 pm on Saturday, July 18. This festival is free and open to the public. It will include solar cooking demonstrations, a class on how to build a solar cooker, live music by Solar Punch – a solar-powered rock band – kid’s activities, and an iron-chef-style solar cook-off with local chefs.
The event will be followed by the SCI Regional Convention on Saturday, July 19th from 9 am-3 p.m. at the California Automobile Museum where international partners will share trends and innovations in worldwide solar cooking efforts, helping to introduce solar cooking in communities around the world where the need is greatest.
