Sarah grew up in Santa Cruz California, where she spent most of her young adult life working in small cafes around town. When she outgrew them, she began to challenge herself in more professional kitchens. The first kitchen she truly fell in love with, was at Bantam, a fixture in the west side Santa Cruz community that boasts a wood fired oven and a daily changing menu. It Is here where Sarah got a taste for true farm to fork cooking, a hyper focus on seasonality and supporting of community farmers.
When Sarah moved to Sacramento in 2017, she took that experience and knowledge to Paragary Restaurant Group. She has spent the last seven years at their flagship restaurant, Paragary’s Midtown, five of those years working the restaurants pastry chef. In this role, Sarah has created dishes focused on what the region has to offer while also considering many dietary preferences and allergies, so that no one is left out of dessert. Many of the menu staples are elevated classics and twists on nostalgic childhood favorites.
