Executive Chef, Grange Restaurant & Bar

Serving as Executive Chef at Grange Restaurant & Bar, Sacramento’s quintessential dining destination located in The Citizen Hotel, Dane Blom is focused on creating a seasonal, approachable menu that is continuously evolving to delight local palettes.

A Sacramento native, Blom’s earliest days in the restaurant industry date back to high school, where he discovered a passion for cooking that ultimately led him to attend the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. From there, he joined the team at fine dining, Michelin-starred restaurant Terra in the Napa Valley before returning to his hometown.

In 2007, Blom became Mike and Molly’s first hire at Hawks Restaurant in Granite Bay before the restaurant opened, establishing his appreciation for high standards in the kitchen and working his way up to Sous Chef.  After leaving Hawks in 2014, Blom became the Chef De Cuisine of Grange Restaurant & Bar before returning to the Hawks family as Chef at Hawks Public House in 2017.

In February 2018, Chef Dane Blom accepted the position of Executive Chef at Grange Restaurant & Bar, taking over for long-time Executive Chef Oliver Ridgeway.  As Chef at Grange, Blom echoes the farm-to-fork culture long embraced at the restaurant and nurtures his team to learn and grow. Blom currently lives in Roseville and, when he’s not in the kitchen, he can be found spending quality family time with his wife and daughter.
