Brock MacDonald is a seasoned and dry-aged culinary creator with decades of experience, beginning his kitchen career as early as thirteen years old and cutting his teeth as a Chef cooking for trendy joints like Spataro and The Tuli Bistro. There, Brock honed his skills and acquired his own taste for the culture of Sacramento. In 2014 Brock was hired on as Head Chef for Block Butcher Bar where he spearheaded their popular charcuterie program. Brock took home the People’s Choice Award in Sacramento’s 2016 Burger Battle with his first ever submission: The LowBrau Burger.

In 2017, Brock became Head Chef for Beast and Bounty, experimenting with live fire cooking as well as non-traditional vegan dishes. Most recently, Brock was honored with a Michelin Plate for Beast and Bounty in their 2020 guide. Today Chef Brock is working harder than ever to ’raise the steaks’ at Slow and Low, infusing classic Southwest-inspired smoked meats and barbeque with his own signature flair for the modern Midtownee.
