For over a decade, Allyson Harvie worked at some of San Francisco’s most renowned dining spots including Absinthe, Aqua, Michael Mina, Ragazza and Salt House. Working at venues that thrived on urban farming, roof top gardens, and a plethora of farmer’s markets helped prepare her to bring more of the farm-to-fork offering to life in her kitchens.
As such, it was meant to be that Harvie came to Sacramento to join America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital, excited about the region’s growing and thriving dining scene. In 2017, Harvie took on the role of Chef de Cuisine at The Kitchen, the Selland family’s beloved flagship restaurant. Harvie continues to be a fresh face in the Sacramento culinary scene.
In 2018, she accepted the position as Chef de Cuisine at Ella Dining Room and Bar, a downtown Sacramento institution and premier dining destination. Harvie’s authentic approach in her relationships with local farmers and the community is what matters most to her, and she looks forward to continuing to share her passion for food and hospitality.
Harvie is excited to participate in this year’s all-female chef line up at the 2019 Sacramento Tower Bridge Dinner. If you see her at the dinner event or around town at a local farmer’s market, don’t hesitate to say hello.share
